PETER LANGE
Peter has spent over 30 years making a wide range of ceramic work from functional domestic ware thrown on the wheel to slip-cast sculptural pieces. For the last 5 years he has been working with commercial bricks, using steel and epoxy to add strength, and producing large sculptural works – tents, a caravan, boats, seats etc. He enjoys using bricks in non-traditonal and surprising ways.
Peter fires salt and soda kilns using wood, gas and diesel for his domestic ware, and an electric kiln for his slip-cast work.
He is President of the Auckland Studio Potters Society, a Life Member of the NZ Society of Potters and edits their magazine.
He has been a demonstrator at several international ceramic symposiums including Gulgong in Australia and Aberystwyth in Wales.
He has had several articles published in International magazines, including Ceramics Technical.
